How the fashion of the future will be environmentally friendly

On the occasion of the Berlin Fashion Week, the German Federal Ministry for the Environment (patron of the FCG funding programme German Sustain Concept) invited to the kick-off event under the topic "How the fashion of the future will be environmentally sustainable". The Federal Minister for the Environment, Svenja Schulze, together with Antje von Dewitz, Managing Director of the German outdoor brand Vaude, and the British fashion designer Hussein Chalayan, discussed how politics, fashion design and the textile industry can contribute to making the fashion of the future environmentally friendly and resource-saving. The panel discussion focused on the possibilities and opportunities for a sustainable future of the fashion industry in order to counteract the ever-growing challenge of textile production.

As part of the BMU event, video clips of the GSC Brands were produced and presented during the discussion. The designers Lara Krude, Lydia Maurer (Phylyda) and Ashley Marc Hovelle (oft) presented themselves and their work. The clips show how a combination of design, quality and innovation results in environmentally sustainable and aesthetic fashion.
