Promoting young talent and sustainable commitment: With this intention, the FCG German Sustain Concept started at the beginning of 2019. The support program initiated by the Fashion Council Germany and its partners Bikini Berlin and Neonyt, the green showroom of Messe Frankfurt, will support four young talents from the field of sustainable design in the disciplines of sourcing, distribution, marketing and business over a period of 24 months. The participants Lara Krude, Oft, Phylyda and Working Title will undergo a multi-stage coaching process during this period.
The concept succeeds the Sustain Programme, which was previously run by the Berlin Senate. The two-year support program aims to establish the participants successfully on the market in the long term by helping them to help themselves. In addition to coaching, the winners are also offered interesting presentation opportunities.
The FCG German Sustain Concept was aimed at all up-and-coming designers or young fashion labels based in Germany who work in the field of sustainability. After the application phase (November and December 2018), ten finalists presented their brands and concepts to a jury of several top-class industry representatives, who selected the four program participants.
After an initial situation analysis, the talents are given knowledge in the four core areas as well as contacts in a second phase in coaching sessions and workshops individually tailored to the respective brand needs. In a third phase, in which the respective specialist coaches will provide advice, the designers will actively implement and independently apply what they have learned.
